“99.media is a carefully curated selection of documentaries from around the world swooping down into extraordinary lives.” — Rob Alderson, WePresent

99.media is a new kind of documentary film festival: both online and in real life.

It is a free and not-for-profit video platform streaming documentaries in 6 languages (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian) + a series of live screenings in different cities where our languages are spoken.

Our objective is to democratize documentaries thanks to multilingualism and to help filmmakers get wider audiences and more impact.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°

"99.media has embarked on a beautiful campaign to share films with the world. Subtitling my film from Arabic and English into a half-dozen languages opens the door for cross-cultural impact in ways I’ve always dreamed about. Their initiative to share powerful works of art with the world is a noble calling, and I’ve watched as my film has reached new people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have my film play on their platform."
— Matthew K. Firpo, filmmaker

"99.media translated my documentary into 5 additional languages, ultimately helping the film reach a much wider audience, and become globally relevant. Films are made to be seen, and reaching an international audience like this is invaluable”.
— Lukas Schrank, filmmaker

“My short documentary was translated into 5 languages by 99.media, which helped it gain a lot more exposure and massively increased its global reach. I have a lot of respect for, and trust in the team, who has always dealt with me in a professional and honest fashion and who I believe has a real passion for short film and a lot of respect for filmmakers.”

— Andy Oxley, filmmaker

Start the year sending your short film to the 33 Semana de Cine de Medina del Campo, qualifier for the Goya® awards and 17,000 € in prizes

Our team wishes you a happy new year that brings many projects and great filmmaking!

We begin 2020 with the deadline on January 8th of the Semana de Cine de Medina del Campo (SECIME), seed of filmmakers and forging a growing industry. Medina del Campo has become a reference city within the Spanish short film map, gathering acclaimed directors with new ones starting their careers here. The City Council and all the institutions, national, regional and local, come together to celebrate the great festival of cinema: art and culture together to face the great challenges of the 21st century.

In its last edition, more than 3,000 short films from 80 countries were presented. Of these, only a hundred divided between the different competitive sections, fought for the desired Roeles trophies. Over the years SECIME has won the recognition for the quality of its selection, having the honor of debuting Goya awards-winning short films in recent years and even several short films premiered at this festival (as "Madre" by Rodrigo Sorogoyen) have been candidates for the Academy Awards®

SECIME is dedicated to short film in all its categories, digital and projects for future short films, in addition to supporting young filmmakers in the feature film contest and to international author cinema with cycles dedicated to the best winning films in the main festivals of the World, retrospectives of classic film, talks, exhibitions and video contest.

Goya® Awards qualifying festival for short films: The winner of the Special Jury Prize "Roel de Plata" will be eligible for the Goya® awards from the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In addition, Medina del Campo distributes more than 17,000 euros in prizes. Don't think about it anymore and send your short BEFORE JANUARY 8th!

This is the 2nd annual international film festival competition for PopCon but we are in our 8th year as a convention. PopCon prides itself as being Indy's "only" locally owned and operated large pop culture fan event. PopCon Indy will be programming a full-lineup pop culture film festival. Filmmakers from around the world are invited to submit their feature and short films in multiple genres.

The film festival will be honoring films of several pop culture genres, including but NOT limited to: sci-fi, fantasy, horror, anime/animation, gaming/sports, internet culture, fan film, action/adventure, documentary & thriller!

PopCon takes place July 8-11, 2021 at the Indiana Convention Center and will welcome dozens of special guests, including several big-name celebrities, YouTube sensations, gamers and creators from all aspects of pop culture. The international film festival will begin July 8th and then run through the end of PopCon July 11th.

PopCon continues to bring some of the largest names in pop culture to Indianapolis each year, but the event’s true mission is to give creators – of all kinds – a platform to find new audiences. Instead of focusing on one specific fandom, PopCon flips the script on the typical con experience by focusing on all genres of pop culture fandom. The film festival is an obvious expansion of that mission.

The film festival will be in addition to all the other programming at PopCon over the event’s weekend. The 5th Annual PopCon Podcast Awards, the 8th Annual Ultimate Cosplay Championships, and hundreds of fan panels and workshops will be alongside video gaming, laser tag, escape rooms, state-of-the-art virtual reality offerings, and 24-hour board gaming. PopCon will also continue to have the best selection of vendors for fans to enjoy.

Tickets to the event can be purchased from our main website link on the left in the contacts section.

Prishtina International Film Festival

Prishtina, Kosovo

Prishtina International Film Festival (PriFest) happens in the capital of newest country in Europe, Kosovo, in Balkans every year in July.

Before you read more see for yourself video of highlights of last year's edition by copying the YouTube link below in your browser:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb9bbxOfqOA

PriFest is the biggest and most important film industry event in Kosovo. It emerged as a need to bring back and build the cinema culture which was lost during many years of repression and war. PriFest is an opportunity to young filmmakers from Kosovo, who because of the visa regime have big limitation to travel freely in Europe and elsewhere, to meet filmmakers and experts from the region and Europe that visit the festival and increase their chances to network and coproduce their films.

PriFest film program offer the audience every year newest films from Europe, Balkan and the world, with addition special programs that promote human rights, tolerance and acceptance for marginalized groups of society. It is the only festival in the Balkan that has a special program of films with the LGBTQ theme which is done in partnership with Outfest in Los Angeles and Queer and Migration Film Festival in Amsterdam. Besides films, the festival has a very good regional film industry development platform (PriFORUM) that offers training, lectures, inspirational masterclasses from distinguished guests and other opportunities for filmmakers from Kosovo and the neighbouring countries to benefit from. It is a great networking event for filmmakers from Kosovo, the region and Europe.

Prishtina Rendezvous brings distributors and sales companies that meet and explore film projects from the Balkan region, while Prishtina Kino Kabaret is dedicated to filmmakers from all over the world to come and spontaneously make short films in Prishtina during the festival.

Producers, directors, film industry experts, casting directors and agents, filmmakers and actors have an opportunity to meet in a totally unconventional, friendly environment and network during the festival and forum days.
Relaxed atmosphere and easy access to guests makes it a unique place to be for people that want to expand their network and show their films to some important key players in the film industry from Europe and region.

To date PriFest was visited by Mr. Paul Haggis (Canadian screenwriter and director), Ms. Vanessa Redgrave (British Actress) who is also the President of our Honorary Board, Stephen Frears (British Director), Joshua Marston (American Director), Franco Nero (Italian Actor), Eva Orner (Australian producer), Gideon Burkhard (German actor), Samuel Maoz (Izraeli director), Danis Tanovic (Bosnian director), Velibor Topic (Bosnian actor), Jasmila Zbanic (Bosnian director), Mirjana Karanovic (Serbian actress) and other important guests.

We like to think that PriFest is a true cultural diplomacy tool for a new country like Kosovo to present itself to the world in the best possible light.

Last but not least, we have very cool parties of electronic music with international and local DJs, great music, great bars to hang out, and most importantly great food and lots of booze with very affordable prices. Kosovo and Prishtina is fun to visit because 65% of our population is under 25 years old!

We can guarantee that hot summer nights should be spent here, and seaside (Albania) is just 3 hours drive from here :)

The slogan of the festival is Friendship. Forever.
